CLIMATE CRISIS ACT ON CHILD RIGHTS
For the one billion children already exposed to the impacts of climate change, COP26 was the world’s best last chance to take the urgent action needed. But young people and their voices were sidelined, while the outcome of the UN climate summit fell short. [1]
Our voices need to be used to make real change as the government doesn’t understand the urgency of the climate crisis or the fact our future is at stake UNICEF UK YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
The world still has a long way to go to tackle climate change and protect children’s futures. But outside of the formal negotiations, there is still hope.
COP26 gave us hope. Not because of the commitments made by Governments – these are still too little, too late – but because of all the activists and advocates and leaders we met and listened to. Their stories were so inspirational and empowering; it felt incredible to be part of a global movement pushing for climate action, justice and human rights. UNICEF UK YOUTH ADVISORY BOARD
As long as there are people pushing governments to take the action needed, there is hope. COP26 may be over, but there is still more to be done to protect children from the worst impacts of the climate crisis.
Together we will keep pushing.

It is an opportunity to transform energy, transport, industrial and other systems so they are more secure and affordable, reduce inequality, protect ecosystems and shift power from elites and multi-billion-dollar corporations to people.
